WHO WE ARE
The Live Like JE✌️S♥️N Foundation was established by the family of Jeyson Reyes to honor his life, legacy, and loving spirit. JE✌️S♥️N was just 16 years old when he passed away on September 22, 2021, from an unknown viral form of meningoencephalitis—a rare infection that affects both the inside and outside of the brain.
In his memory, we launched the "Kindness Scholarship" to reflect who he truly was and how he lived his life every single day—with compassion, generosity, and heart.
Our foundation’s mission is to:
Provide scholarship awards
Perform random acts of kindness
Sponsor community events that reflect Jeyson’s values
We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so all donations are tax deductible.
WHO JE✌️S♥️N WAS
JE✌️S♥️N had a learning disability and struggled significantly with reading. Despite the academic challenges he faced, you’d never know it when talking to him. He was bright, funny, and incredibly loving. School wasn’t easy, but he showed up every day with determination and heart.
More importantly, JE✌️S♥️N was known for his kindness. He received Citizenship Awards at school for helping his classmates and volunteering his time. He gave up his recess to sit with a disabled child so they wouldn’t be alone. He carried books for a student who had a broken leg. He was the kind of person who wouldn’t just give you the shirt off his back—he’d give you his mom’s too.
JE✌️S♥️N had a deep love for the most vulnerable among us—babies, animals, and the elderly. He once rescued six kittens from Fire Island, a mission he took on himself. After his passing, we learned he often bought lunch for a friend who couldn’t afford it. When he saw homeless individuals, especially in the cold, he didn’t just offer food or money—he sat and talked with them. He genuinely cared.
JE✌️S♥️N didn’t look for recognition—he simply couldn’t pass up a chance to help. His big heart, his magnetic personality, and his natural ability to connect with others are the legacy he left behind.
Why Kindness Matters
This is why our scholarship is not based on academics or athletics. It’s based on kindness.
The Live Like JE✌️S♥️N Scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate:
Compassion
A generous heart
A commitment to doing good for others
Strength and determination, especially in the face of learning challenges
We believe that by honoring these traits, we inspire students to understand the true value of empathy and service. JE✌️S♥️N may not have been at the top of his class academically, but when it came to character, he was best in class and led with love.
Continuing His Legacy
In addition to scholarships, we’re dedicated to Random Acts of Kindness—big and small. This includes:
Buying groceries or meals for those in need
Donating to charities and shelters
Mowing someone’s lawn
Paying a bill for someone who’s struggling
Sponsoring community events that bring people together
Every act, no matter the size, is a tribute to Jeyson’s giving spirit.
100% of all donations go directly to scholarships and kindness initiatives.
Small acts of kindness can leave a lasting impact—and that was JE✌️S♥️N’s true gift to the world.
